HR professionals are on the front lines of today’s most complex people challenges. Every organization has individuals whose behaviors stall progress, disrupt team momentum, and quietly erode culture. These moments can drain a manager’s confidence, exhaust HR’s time, and create ripple effects across the entire employee experience. In a workplace where pressure is high and change is constant, HR plays a pivotal role in helping leaders move from frustration to transformation.

The Complicated People Playbook is an energizing, solutions-driven session that gives HR professionals the tools and language to empower leaders at every level. Rather than relying on outdated corrective approaches or putting out fires, HR attendees will learn how to equip their organizations with coaching-forward strategies that redirect challenging behaviors, rebuild accountability, and strengthen communication. This session arms HR with practical frameworks they can use immediately to help leaders create more resilient, collaborative, and high-performing teams.

Through engaging stories, interactive insights, and simple yet powerful tools, participants will walk away with fresh strategies for facilitating difficult conversations, coaching strong personalities, and shaping a culture where ownership and alignment thrive. This experience transforms complicated moments into culture-building opportunities, giving HR the confidence to guide leaders with clarity, consistency, and influence. Attendees will return to their organizations ready to elevate leadership, reduce drama, and champion a healthier, more productive workplace.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize how complicated behaviors influence team dynamics and organizational culture and identify where HR can drive high-impact solutions.
  • Equip leaders with practical coaching tools that redirect unproductive behavior, reinforce expectations, and build stronger accountability.
  • Model emotionally intelligent leadership to help managers navigate difficult interactions, reduce tension, and sustain trust across teams.
  • Apply real-world coaching tactics that transform complicated moments into opportunities for improved alignment, collaboration, and performance.
